Champion Replacement Windows of Ft. Worth

Texas does not have a single statewide license specifically for window and door installers, but local jurisdictions can require registration and building permits. In Fort Worth, contractors must follow city permitting and inspection rules for work that alters openings or structural elements. Before hiring, ask the contractor to show any required Fort Worth registrations, proof that they will obtain permits and inspections, current general liability insurance, and references. Verify any local requirements with the City of Fort Worth Building Inspections office.

Fort Worth has hot summers, strong sun, occasional severe storms and hail—choose products that address heat gain, UV exposure and durability. Energy-efficient options include double-pane insulating glass with low‑E coatings and inert gas fill (argon), and frames with good thermal breaks (vinyl, fiberglass, or clad wood). Look for NFRC ratings (U‑factor and SHGC) and Energy Star recommendations for your region so you reduce cooling costs. Consider tempered or impact-rated glass in areas prone to hail or windborne debris and ensure installers use proper flashing and weatherproofing to prevent air and water infiltration.

A clear written estimate should list product make/model, glass type and NFRC ratings, frame material, exact scope of work (removal, any structural changes, finish work), timeline, cleanup, payment schedule and whether the contractor will obtain permits and arrange inspections. Expect manufacturer product warranties for the windows/doors and a separate written workmanship warranty from the contractor; ask for copies and the warranty terms in writing. Reputable contractors typically pull required permits and coordinate inspections, but confirm this in the contract and retain all receipts and final inspection documents.
