"Sean the Manager from Welles Branch showed up to drain my water heater. He didn't. He said it was rusted and needed to be replaces. He showed me water around the bottom of the heater in the pan on which the heater was sitting. The water was not there the night before. I removed the water. There was no rust at the bottom of the heater. There is no water there after two days. He had a couple of minutes alone with the water heater so my conclusion is that he put the water there to force replacing a functioning water heater and a couple of valves a cost of over $3000. When I priced what he was offering compared to what I could independently, I could do all of what he offered at around $1000. I didn't want to waste money to replace a fully functioning water heater. I had one before that lasted more than 20 years. Rheem water heaters interior is glass coated for a long life if they are maintained properly. Be careful if you ever need anyone doing work in your house, make sure to ask around and get some decent people. There are a lot of thieves skinning a lot of innocent people and there almost no regulation and no control. We live in a strange time."
