Natran Green Pest Control

In Texas, pest management technicians and companies that apply pesticides for structural pest control must be licensed and registered through the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) Structural Pest Control Service. Ask the company for the name of the licensed applicator who will do the work and verify credentials on the TDA website. Also request proof of general liability insurance and, if relevant, workers' compensation coverage. Finally, check references or online reviews and ask for a written estimate and a clear description of the planned services and any guarantees or follow-up treatments.

Frequency depends on the pest and the level of infestation. In Houston’s year‑round warm, humid climate many homeowners use ongoing preventive plans (commonly every 1–3 months) for general pests like ants, cockroaches and spiders. Termite control usually requires an initial inspection and either annual inspections or a specific treatment plan; mosquitoes and fleas are seasonal peaks and may need more frequent attention during warm months. A reputable provider will tailor the schedule to your property, offer re‑treatments for recurring problems and recommend exclusion and habitat‑reduction steps to lower treatment frequency.

Many modern pest control products are EPA‑registered and applied in ways that reduce exposure, but safety depends on the specific chemicals and application method. The company should provide product information or Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and clear re‑entry instructions (how long to keep children and pets away, when to ventilate, etc.). Common preparation steps include covering or removing pet bowls and toys, securing fish tanks, removing exposed food and washing dishes, and keeping children and pets out of treated areas until the technician confirms it’s safe. If you prefer, ask about low‑toxicity, bait‑based, or nonchemical integrated pest management options before work begins.
