OmniView Window and Door

Texas does not have a statewide license specifically for most window and door installers, but local rules and permit requirements vary. Fort Worth may require contractor registration or building permits for certain replacements or structural changes, so ask the contractor to confirm permit responsibility. Always verify the contractor carries general liability insurance and, if applicable, workers’ compensation (or a signed waiver) and ask for proof of coverage, local references, and a written contract before work begins.

Fort Worth has hot, humid summers and occasional severe storms, so prioritize windows and doors with good thermal performance and solar control. Look for NFRC-rated U‑factor and SHGC on the label (lower U‑factor = better insulation; lower SHGC = less solar heat gain), consider low‑E coatings, double‑pane glass with argon or krypton fill, and warm‑edge spacers to reduce condensation. Also check ENERGY STAR recommendations for your ZIP code and consider impact‑resistant or reinforced glazing if hail or storm damage is a concern in your neighborhood.

Time depends on scope: a single window sash replacement can be a few hours, full‑frame replacements or multiple windows typically take a few days to a week plus any manufacturing lead time. Whether you need a permit or inspection depends on whether openings, structural framing, or the exterior envelope are altered; contact the City of Fort Worth Building Inspections to confirm. Proper flashing, weatherproofing, and installation technique are critical for performance and to avoid voiding manufacturer warranties, so get a written timeline, permit plan, inspection schedule, and clear warranty terms (manufacturer vs. installer) in your contract.
