Plumbers may provide flat-rate quotes for common jobs or time-and-materials estimates for complex work; always get a written estimate that lists scope, materials, permit costs, and any conditions for change orders. Ask what manufacturer warranties apply to parts and whether the contractor provides a written workmanship warranty (scope and duration). Expect higher emergency or after-hours rates, and allow extra time for scheduling during high-demand periods or weather events (freezes can increase service demand and risk of pipe damage in Central Texas).
