A reputable roofer can document damage and meet with your insurance adjuster, but you should keep copies of all estimates and communications and confirm coverage details with your insurer before signing anything. Beware of door‑to‑door storm‑chasing contractors, get multiple written bids, avoid paying the full amount upfront (a reasonable deposit to order materials is common), and obtain lien waivers and any workmanship warranty in writing when the job is complete.
